Pin Ups For Breast Cancer Research
2009 Calendar
The Rosebud Burlesque Club and Academy was founded in 2007 in Saskatoon Saskatchewan to meet the needs
of wayward Canadian prairie girls. It has since established regular retro burlesque classes and is known
for their classy and classic performances! They have introduced the fair city to a fair bit of bits! The
Academy is directed by Head Mistress Cheripop Purr and has almost one hundred graduates wandering the city
so far!
This summer the club held a 1920's style car wash to raise money for a fundraising initiative. The club
has since produced a retro style 14 month Pin Up calendar featuring many of our members striking classic
and classy poses. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to donate to Breast Cancer research in Canada! We are donating
$10 from each calendar sale to the cause and aim to sell a minimum of 1000 calendars! The Rosebuds will join
forces with the C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer research on October 23 and 24th at Lawson Mall where
calendars will be available. Local stores selling the calendars include: Positive Passions 1C-1005 Broadway
Ave, Saskatoon, Turning the Tide Bookstore 525 11th Street East, Saskatoon and Bodacious Bustlines in the
Warman Plaza. Calendars will also be available at the Anarchist Book Fair at the Cosmo Centre on November
8th. You can personally order your calendar by calling 306-665-5998 or by emailing us at burlesque@sasktel.net.
Calendars are available for $21.00.
The Rosebuds are a neo burlesque feminist social club which supports women's causes and other community
issues. We strive to celebrate the beauty and glamour of the Female form in all its many variations. We are
highly inclusive in our membership and our members range widely in age, body type, ethnicity and backgrounds.
