The Rosebud Burlesque Club was founded in 2007 in Saskatoon Saskatchewan to meet the needs of wayward Canadian prairie girls. It has since established
regular classic burlesque shows and has introduced the fair city to a fair bit of bits!
Foodgasm is the 2014 re-launch of the Illustrated Rosebud Cook Book... Now with recipes! The cook book has been featured on Wes Funk's Lit Happens
and was a #1 Best seller of home grown books at McNally Robinson. The cook book features the Rosebud Burlesque Club members' best recipes alongside
of dozens of full colour pin up style photos of the featured recipe writers and their dishes! Foodgasm attendees will receive a complimentary copy
of the cook book with their entrance fee as well as bite sized samples from many of the amazing recipes featured in the book. Cook book
contributors will be on hand to sign books in between a variety of food inspired performances by the dancers!
Neo/New Burlesque is a revival or updating of the traditional burlesque performance. A new generation, nostalgic for the spectacle and perceived
glamour of the old times is determined to bring burlesque back! Today, New Burlesque has taken many forms, but all have the common trait of
honoring one or more of burlesque's previous incarnations, with acts including striptease, expensive costumes, bawdy humor, cabaret and more.
As with the earlier burlesque, neo-burlesque is more focused on the "tease" in "striptease" than the "strip."
